Questions people actually ask

Doesn’t Jesus say to pray in secret?
He does. Matthew 6 warns against praying to be seen by others. That is why Pray Aloud works the way it does: you pray alone, in your own room, in your own voice, and nothing you say is recorded or shared. Not to be seen. Just to be heard.
Can you read my prayers?
No, and not because we promise not to. We never built anywhere to put them. There is no account and no sign-in, and your prayers, the names you carry and the things you are carrying live only on your iPhone. In 2022 an investigation found several prayer apps reserving the right to share what people prayed about with advertisers. Our answer is in how the app is built, not in a promise.
Do I have to pray out loud?
That is the heart of it, and a whisper is enough. At night you can simply read the prayer, and if you would like to hear it first, a voice can pray it with you.
What does Pray First do to my phone?
Only what you ask. You choose the apps, and each morning they wait until you have said your morning prayer, then open as normal. Skip now opens them for fifteen minutes, Not today opens them until midnight, and turning Pray First off lifts every shield at once.
Which denomination is it for?
Christians, broadly. The prayers are anchored in scripture (the World English Bible), centered on Jesus, and free of any one tradition’s jargon. If you pray to the God of the Bible, it will feel like home.
What if I miss a day, or a week?
Grace Days cover the odd miss. Miss more and your walk simply begins again, while your count of mornings with God keeps every morning you have ever prayed. That number never resets.
