The short version: your prayers are never recorded, never uploaded, and never read. There is no server full of prayers, because we never built one.
Pray Aloud is a daily prayer app operated by an independent developer ("we", "us"). Contact: [email protected].
Pray Aloud's core feature is praying out loud. Here is exactly what happens when you do:
A small amount of non-sensitive data leaves the device to make the app function, none of it linked to your identity and none of it containing prayer content:

We do not collect: audio, prayer content, your name, contacts, location, photos, health data, or advertising identifiers. We do not track you across other apps or websites, we show no ads, and we never sell or share personal data for advertising.
If you join the waitlist or email list on prayaloud.app, your email address is stored by our email provider (Kit/ConvertKit) and used only to send you the updates you signed up for. Unsubscribe with one click in any email.
Pray Aloud is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and similar laws), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because almost everything lives on your device, the fastest path is usually yours: deleting the app deletes your local data, and unsubscribing removes your email. For anything else — including deletion of analytics data associated with your anonymous identifier — email [email protected] and we will act within 30 days. Data revealing religious belief is specially protected in many jurisdictions; our answer to that responsibility is architectural — we designed the app so your prayers never reach us at all.
On-device data stays until you delete the app. Analytics and crash data are retained by the services above per their standard windows and deleted on request. All network traffic uses HTTPS.
If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and note it in the app. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
